The safe chunk that never chunks
A defence mechanism whose lower bound sits above the ceiling of the thing it defends against

From our feed importer, 2025:
// 🔑 split api-batch further into safe-chunks to avoid Strapi overload
const safeChunks = chunkArray(apiBatch, WORKER_CONFIG.SAFE_CHUNK_SIZE || 50)
apiBatch has already been cut to DEFAULT_BATCH_SIZE, which is 40. SAFE_CHUNK_SIZE is 200. Slicing forty items into chunks of two hundred returns one chunk of forty.
The key emoji is somebody marking this as the important line.
It cannot start working, either. The performance optimiser clamps batch size to 20–80 and safe chunk size to 100–400 — the floor of the chunk is above the ceiling of the batch, by construction. The adaptive tuner exists in part to guarantee that the safety mechanism never fires.
Both values are set in production, at those exact numbers.
